I guess I learnt to craft very early on as I remember being taught to knit by my Gran when I was about 5. As a child I made the clothes for my Sindy and Barbie dolls, and for my 18th Birthday I eventually got my very own sewing machine (which is still going strong).
When the kids were smaller I made their clothes and progressed to making dance clothes and tutu’s!! I have been known to recover sofas and for some reason was always the person that people came to for that obscure item that they wanted making!!
I have dabbled in most crafts from cross-stitch and tapestry to card making etc etc. I can even wield a hammer when required!
I started making cards in 2004 and found out about atc’s in Dec 2005, at which time I joined atcards. Since that time I suppose I must have made hundreds of cards (some better than others LOL). I carry the banner of envie makers and am always happy to instruct others in the making of them and pocket books.
I have in the past year bravely started drawing and at last have recognisable pictures to my credit.
I have to admit to being drawn to all Oriental images etc, so I can always be pleased by receiving a card etc in that theme.
As for my crafting and art goals? Well I would hope that I can continue to create items that others enjoy looking at and want to own, hopefully without ever becoming too full of my own importance. I also hope that in the future I will be remembered as someone who encouraged others in their artistic goals.
